The Koch-Chemie Cleaning Clay "Rkr" Abrasive is the tool you reach for when a surface is heavily contaminated and needs a proper deep-clean before polishing or sealing. It pulls stubborn deposits like tree sap, bug splatter, fallout, industrial dust, overspray and tar off smooth surfaces such as weathered paint and glass without manhandling them. This red, more aggressive clay is made for hard-used panels — but keep it off fresh paint, since you'll always need to polish after.
The red Koch-Chemie clay is built for surfaces that have really copped it — paint and glass hammered by tree sap, tar and industrial dust. With the right technique and a proper lube like Koch-Chemie Clay Spray, the clay glides over the panel and lifts the deposits without scratching what sits underneath.
For detailing enthusiasts, claying is a key step before paint correction. After you've worked this abrasive clay, the paint wants polishing to set up a clean base for sealing. It pairs well with the likes of Power Cut or a fine-cut compound for a deep correction, before a high-gloss or anti-hologram polish finishes the job.
Look after the clay between uses and it'll last you a long time. Just dampen it after each job and store it in its original packaging so it doesn't dry out. Treated that way, it keeps working until it's fully saturated with dirt.
