Long-Term Protection for Leather and Textiles with GYEON Q² Ceramic Coating
What do GYEON leather and textile sealants do? GYEON Q² coatings for leather and textiles protect leather seats, Alcantara, and fabric surfaces from stains, UV fading, and mechanical wear – with a semi-permanent SiO₂ protective layer that makes cleaning easier and preserves the material long-term.
Leather and textiles in vehicle interiors are exposed daily to mechanical stress, sweat, grease, UV radiation, and liquids. Classic leather care products form a film on the surface that needs to be renewed regularly. GYEON Q² leather and textile coatings take a different approach: The SiO₂-based formulation creates a chemically anchored, semi-permanent protective layer directly within the leather or textile structure. Liquids bead off, dirt does not penetrate deeply, and the leather remains supple and colorfast in the long run. The same principle applies to Alcantara and high-quality fabric seats – stains are easier to remove, and the material ages more slowly.
- Liquid repellency on leather and fabric. Whether coffee, water, or sweat – liquids bead off coated surfaces and leave no stains, provided they are wiped away promptly. This permanently protects the material.
- UV protection and color preservation. UV radiation causes untreated leather and textiles to fade. The Q² coating builds a protective barrier that ensures long-term color preservation and material integrity.
- No artificial shine, natural feel. GYEON Q² leather sealants are formulated so that the leather looks and feels natural after application – no high gloss, no sticky surface.
Practical tip from Detailing1: Always thoroughly pre-clean leather with a suitable leather cleaner before sealing. Grease deposits, creams, or old leather care products must be removed so that the coating can adhere directly to the leather. Heavily used leather seats (driver's seat) often require several cleaning steps to create a clean adhesion surface.
GYEON Q² Leathershield and Textile: Coating for Leather and Fabric
The GYEON Q² Leathershield is specifically designed for genuine leather surfaces – for leather seats, steering wheels, door panels, and center consoles. The formulation is precisely tuned so that the leather remains breathable and supple after coating, while simultaneously repelling liquids and dirt. For Alcantara, fabric, and other textile materials, GYEON offers Q² Textile, which penetrates deep into the textile structure and forms a water-repellent barrier without altering the look or feel. Both products are easy to apply: spray on, distribute evenly, let sit briefly, and wipe off.
Leather Sealant vs. Classic Leather Care: Why Coating is Better in the Long Run
Conventional leather care products and conditioners need to be renewed regularly as they are relatively quickly broken down as organic compounds. GYEON Q² Leathershield offers significantly longer durability due to its chemical cross-linking. This means less maintenance, more consistent protection, and leather that looks better in the long run. As a supplement to the sealant, we recommend regular cleaning with Q²M Leather Cleaner and occasional refreshment with Q²M Leather Conditioner for optimal leather moisturization.
