COLOURLOCK Leather Fresh (VW) is a pigmented leather care dye that nourishes and at the same time compensates for slight color loss in one step. The care dye is based on original VW color samples and is formulated to blend harmoniously into existing surfaces. 💡 Practical tip from the Detailing1 workshop: We use Leather Fresh in our workshop as a standard care product for every detailing — even if the leather still looks okay. 100ml is enough for a complete pair of seats including the steering wheel. Wet a microfiber pad evenly, work in circular motions, polish with a second pad. Looks like new after 5 minutes.

Care routine in 15 minutes per pair of seats

Leather Fresh (VW) is applied as a care routine every 6–12 months — work in with a microfiber pad, polish with a second pad, done. One application takes about 15–20 minutes per pair of seats.

Before application, the leather is washed with leather cleaner and wiped damp. After a short drying time, a microfiber pad is moistened with about 3–5 ml of Leather Fresh (VW) and worked evenly onto the leather surface in circular motions. Immediately polish with a second dry microfiber pad until the typical matt-velvety OEM shine appears.

The water-based care dye penetrates the uppermost pigment layer and simultaneously seals the fiber. Unlike professional Leather Colour (VW) repair, neither filler nor sanding or top coat are absolutely necessary. For heavily used areas such as seat bolsters or steering wheels, Top Coat can also be applied, which extends the durability to 18–24 months. A 100 ml bottle is sufficient for about 2–3 complete care applications.

The care dye is formulated to penetrate and refresh the intact pigment layer. However, if the layer is worn through or there are cracks, Leather Fresh cannot cover the damaged area — the fiber becomes visible there and absorbs the color unevenly. Suede, velour leather and Alcantara are cared for with Nubuk Fresh (VW), as their rough fiber structure requires a different carrier solution.

If the leather only looks faded or dull, Leather Fresh is the fastest and cheapest solution — about 4–5 Euros per care application. If, on the other hand, there are deep abrasions or cracks, Leather Colour (VW) with filler and top coat is used. Both products are based on the same original VW color samples and can be combined.
